規格材を用いながらも、座り心地を考えて作られたベーシックなチェアです。スタッキングすることもできます。引き算するというクリエイティブな考え方から彫刻的な構造が生まれました。もともとスイスのアートプロジェクトのためにデザインされた作品ですが、今回は石巻工房の商品として展開します。

気配りがあり、ミニマル、実用的。社会を意識したプロダクト・家具・空間を設計。海外での活動が多いMarbacher氏は、Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen, Patrick Parish Gallery, Freitag, Theater Nordkraft, Monocle等とコラボレーションしています。Zurich University of the Artsでインダストリアルデザインを勉強し、2013年にStudio Sebastian Marbacherを設立。2017年、Swiss Design Awardを受賞。

A basic chair made of standard red cedar lumber whose geometry creates a pleasant seating comfort and allows the chairs to be stacked in a very simple way. Reduction as a creative method led to this coherent form with sculptural qualities. Originally designed for an art project and cultural meeting place in Switzerland, this piece of furniture is now also part of the Ishinomaki Laboratory collection.

Attentive, minimal, and practical — Sebastian Marbacher designs products, furniture pieces, and spaces that are socially anchored. As an internationally active designer Marbacher has worked in close collaboration with clients such as Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen, Patrick Parrish Gallery, Freitag, Theater Nordkraft and Monocle. He studied industrial design at Zurich University of the Arts and founded Studio Sebastian Marbacher in 2013. In 2017, he was awarded the Swiss Design Award.
