A redesign of the KOBO SOFA, which was originally made for a shared office space in Ishinomaki after the Great East Japan Earthquake. The redesign takes into account more casual uses, such as the desire to sprawl out or lean back. Its low proportions are suitable for a variety of spaces.

The comfortable, high-quality cushions are made using Kvadrat’s luxurious, durable textiles with Karimoku’s expert craftsmanship.

Design : Keiji Ashizawa
Keiji Ashizawa has been active in architectural and product design as a proponent of “Honest Design” since the founding of his eponymous practice, Keiji Ashizawa Design, in 2005. In 2011 to support local communities’ recovery efforts in the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake, he founded a public DIY workshop, Ishinomaki Laboratory.
