The KOBO TABLE is a generously sized table originally designed for IRORI, the first shared office established in Ishinomaki after the Great East Japan Earthquake. While its appearance is clean and understated, it is exceptionally sturdy, making it an ideal workspace for summer craft projects, creative experiments, and everyday activities. Whether placed indoors or outdoors, it naturally becomes a gathering place for family and friends.

A perfect companion to the KOBO TABLE is the ISHINOMAKI STACKING BENCH. True to its name, it is stackable, yet its lightweight, compact design is what truly sets it apart. The KOBO SOFA, composed of a simple solid wood frame and high-quality cushions, was originally designed for an IT company established to support the recovery of the Tohoku region following the Great East Japan Earthquake. In the Maker Pack edition produced by Karimoku, the sofa has been further refined with a lower profile, enhanced seating comfort, and improved functionality. The KOBO SOFA 3P, in particular, is distinguished by its elegant, deep proportions and has become a customer favorite for its exceptional comfort and versatility.

The perfect companion to the KOBO SOFA 3P is the TONBO TABLE, named after the dragonfly for its distinctive T-shaped form. With its well-balanced size and straightforward construction, this side table slides neatly beneath the sofa, keeping books, drinks, or everyday essentials within easy reach. ブランド背景

2011年、東日本大震災の復旧のために、建築家・芦沢啓治を中心としたデザイナー有志が補修道具や木材を集めて提供し、DIY支援として市民が自由に使える公共的な施設としてスタートしました。

その後、「手づくり」にデザインの付加価値を与え、地域内外で販売して自立するための「石巻工房ブランド」として2014年株式会社化。国内外のデザイナーと協働し、被災を背景にした材料と技術の制約を背景にしたアプローチで、シンプルでかつ愛着のわくデザインのプロダクトを生み出しています。
